1. What is AcceleWeb, Inc.?

AcceleWeb, Inc. is a holding company that will keep a portfolio of online assets and provide consultancy services. The goal is to have 1-2 new Internet products in the portfolio every year. Consultancy services include thought-leadership and management consulting.

2. Why the strategy?

After looking at the market space and current websites, we realized that we can have websites that are more valuable, easier to use, and simpler for our users. Our mantra's simply if we can keep overhead/expenses low and manage our resources well, we can churn around simple, easy-to-use web sites in a timely, cost-effective manner. We are small, but are surrounded by technical folks that think big, with a good and practical mindset.

3. Will the websites cost me anything?

Each website will be different, but as a business, we will need a revenue model. Some will have charges, others will not, depending on the product. Our goal is to deploy good websites that remove any barriers for users to get to what they want to do. Thus, the web sites will have many models, including free (i.e. ad-driven), memberships, and fee based. There may even be exchanges, which would come down to a per-transaction fee.

4. How are you able to do this?

Our theory is that 90% of the features that users are interested in are created in the initial versions of the web site, which are usually developed during 10% of a web site's total lifetime. The subsequent 10% of the features, which are not highly utilized, are developed in the remaining 90% of the web site's lifetime. The 10% of the features done in 90% of the web site's lifetime are not a good investment. Our goal is to focus on the 90% of the features for 100% of the web site's lifetime, thus maximizing our efforts and getting the highest ROI. That said, we can create and deploy more sites by effectively managing our investments in engineering and marketing.

For our clients, this is one of the items that goes into the equation for consultancy services, but we make sure it is balanced against the organization needs and other variables that may exist.
